This Community Base Spiral Texture Wall Was Design By Tara...

Our Lives Yesterday and Today This community base spiral texture wall was design by (Tara Cady Sartorius, 2006) and sponsored by the Central Alabama Community Foundation. The spiral texture title is a wonderful piece of work that represents the expressions of more than 700 artists containing more than 1000 textured titles using different kinds of material. I find this art to be abstract art, because this art stresses elements of composition, rather than a subject. This body of work was designed with undefined proportions and great balance. This piece of art has artistic element of color, line, shape, form, and texture. The spiral was added to give tone and balance to the art and provide a smooth separation of colors. These are some of thing that immediately drawls the viewer to the bodywork. The work is a colorful representation of the past as well as the future showing all aspects of life. There was no detail information on this collage of title work other than the name, but it spoke to me and I had to share th is with the class. If you didn’t know anything about art, this work would get your attention and show you the past and take you forward into today. The complimentary colors used in this display has a smooth earthly tone, but as you view the artwork it has a very pleasant, comforting feel as you view the mellow soft colors displayed in this design. The Life Changing Experience of Caregiving My interpretation of caregiving and the extensive role a caregiver plays transformed while reading Emily Abel’s novel, Hearts of Wisdom. When interviewing my grandmother, Marjorie Waguespack, her personal experiences reinforced many of the vital factors Abel believes are involved in caregiving. Caregiving includes major rewarding aspects from varying standpoints. Emily Abel wholeheartedly believes, â€Å"the three major components of care—instrumental, spiritual, and emotional—sometimes conferred significant rewards† (60). Caring for an individual can be difficult and may require substantial sacrifice, but oftentimes the benefits outweigh the costs. She trusted her doctor literally with her life. Emily Abel emphasizes th at doctors proved to remain unreliable and costly. She illustrates the difficulties of summoning a physician; â€Å"transportation difficulties not only delayed doctors’ arrivals but also prevented them from providing continuing care† (41). My grandmother lived in a different kind of situation. The town she resided in consisted of almost all relatives; where as in Abel’s stories, the doctor most likely would be required to travel long distances to provide care. Transportation served as a significant challenge that prevented care from being rendered in a timely fashion, especially if major trauma or an acute sudden onset condition was involved. My grandmother did not experience this obstacle. My grandmother explained, â€Å"[T]he doctors office had registered nurses and a few rooms available for more care, if needed, for twenty four hours a day.† In other words, help was almost always available. The local doctor’s instrumental value benefitted the surrounding community. This local resource came in handy with her multiple children. My cousin Aaron has always known he can come to me with anything. He comes to me with any problems he has or just to share something. When he called me this time, he spoke very excitedly. In high school, we are so worried about what a student knows on a standardized state test that we forget to teach them how to be a well-rounded person. Theodore Roosevelt once said, â€Å"To educate a person in mind but not in morals is to educate a menace to society.† (Lickona, 1991, p. 4) The school has seen a 30% increase in discipline referrals about cheating, disrespect, and inappropriate behavior over the last five years. â€Å"Behaviors such as lying, stealing, not performing well in school, skipping class, or exhibiting general†¦show more content†¦This program is easy to incorporate into the classroom for all students and does not take away from the valuable instruction time for each subject area. An effective OB plan helps to achieve increased performance level for the company. The company needs to incorporate effective organizational behavior strategies that will support teamwork and motivation of the employees. The higher the employees are satisfied and motivated, the more will be the employees be able to work efficiently. This increases the productivity of the employees that further increases the productivity of Wesfarmers. Wesfarmers thus needs to change its leadership style from authoritative leadership to democratic leadership that allows the employees to actively participate in the decision making process. The employees are able to fee motivated as they feel important in the organization. Furthermore, this process entails external and physical demise or ‘death’ which is countered by this psychological resurrection, renewal and growth. The true transformative agency of love and engagement begins in earnest as the Boy starts playing, sleeping and loving the Rabbit after his china dog went missing. This process is the authentic genesis of the Rabbit becoming Real at least to the Boy. Like Skin Horse who talks to and shows appreciation and warmth towards the Rabbit, the Boy in turn, continues where Skin Horse left off. He talks to, plays with, loves and appreciates the Rabbit even as his outward appearance is deteriorating. The Boy’s love eventually exposes and defends the Rabbit’s Realness, when Nana, who does not see the Rabbit as Real says, â€Å"Fancy all that fuss for a toy,† the Boy retorts strongly; â€Å"†¦ He isn’t a toy. He’s REAL! † In return, when the Boy gets scarlet fever, the Rabbit returns all the care, love and compassion he had shown him such that he became Real, thus the tale reaches its literary climax. As the story winds towards the resolution, the remaining elements of becoming and indeed being Real are realized. First, the Rabbit becomes not only Real to the Boy, but to Nana as well, who notices this and exclaims; â€Å"I declare if that old Bunny hasn’t got quite a knowing expression. The ultimate revelation of the Rabbit as Real is however realized when the nursery magic Fairy informs the Rabbit that: â€Å"You were Real to the Boy†¦ because he loved you. Now you shall be real to every one,† thus completing the Rabbit’s journey to becoming Real by making him Real through giving him hind legs or the ability to become part of the group to the wild Rabbit and everyone else. The essence of the transformation therefore is that in the beginning, Real i s visible and in the eye of beholder but ultimate and true Real is, in the end, in the eyes of all who behold the beloved.
